The Misfits Camp hosted Filmex’s Pay-It-Forward session at Misfits Camp, led by award-winning filmmaker Direk Paolo Villaluna, who shared his passion and wisdom with our campers. 🌟

He talked about the heart of storytelling, how stories connect us as humans, and how cinema can be a powerful force for change. Campers then got to work—visualizing and shooting 30 to 120-second short films using just their phones.

We watched all the films together, and Direk Paolo gave kind, insightful feedback—helping each camper grow in confidence and craft. 🎥

He left us with this:
"Do it to express yourself, do it for advocacy, do it for entertainment, and do it for sustainability—hopefully in that order."
